Melt-blown filter cartridges are among the most common and efficient filter cartridges available. They are widely used for filtering various liquids, such as water, chemicals, and oils.
These cartridges are manufactured using the melt-blown process. In this process, polypropylene pellets are melted, after which the molten polypropylene is blown through small nozzles using high-pressure air onto a rotating mandrel. The result is a cotton-like, dense yet porous fiber structure. As the material cools and solidifies, it forms a rigid cartridge that typically does not require a separate inner core.
The filter is made of polypropylene and is available in various sizes and filtration ratings. The outer diameter is always 61 mm, and the inner core diameter is 28.5 mm. Available lengths range from 9 3/4″ to 40″, and filtration ratings include 1 µm, 5 µm, 10 µm, 20 µm, 50 µm, and 100 µm.
