When dealing with large pipeline sizes and requiring precise filtration, the FAM PFP RB is the primary choice.

• Scalability: Suitable for pipeline sizes up to DN 350.
• Materials: The housing is made of AISI 304L or AISI 316L steel, and the filter basket is standardly made of durable AISI 316L steel.
• Accuracy: Three filtration levels are available: 50 μm, 100 μm, or 200 μm, enabling optimal cleanliness. Other filtration ratings are also available for special requirements.

Compact solutions and special materials

For space-saving installations and applications requiring special materials, we recommend solutions from Krone Filter:

• Krone Filter KSF: A highly compact basket strainer made of nodular cast iron (GGG-50) or bronze. Its flexible combination of housing sizes and connection flanges allows precise adaptation to existing piping and impurity levels.
• Krone Filter KWF: An in-line filter designed not only for liquids but also for gases and viscous pasty substances.

Uninterrupted process with a duplex basket strainer

In applications where filtration cannot be interrupted during cleaning, the KDF-K duplex basket strainer is the right solution.

• Continuous operation: The unit consists of two identical filters used alternately via a changeover valve. This ensures continuous flow through one basket while the other is under maintenance.
• Versatility: Suitable for both suction and discharge sides in sizes DN 15–250. The housing can be made of cast iron or bronze depending on the application.

The use of basket strainers increases system reliability and protects critical components, such as pumps, from premature wear by capturing impurities. The filtration process can be enhanced and monitored with various accessories:

Differential pressure measurement: Enables monitoring of the filter’s clogging level and ensures cleaning is carried out at the right time.
Heating jacket: Ensures proper operation in applications where temperature control is critical to prevent the buildup of residues.

A basket strainer is an industrial filter designed to remove solid impurities from a liquid flow using a removable and washable filter basket. It is installed directly in the pipeline to protect pumps and other equipment.

Typical applications include pump protection, filtration of oils and fuels, purification of process water, and pre-filtration of paints and chemicals.

A duplex basket strainer enables uninterrupted operation. When one basket becomes full, the flow is redirected to the other basket, allowing the filled one to be cleaned without stopping the process.

The cleaning interval depends entirely on the cleanliness of the filtered liquid and the flow rate. We recommend using differential pressure monitoring, as it allows the system to indicate automatically when cleaning is required.
